BYC - 2018 League Champions
The LFA First Division is a professional league for men's football clubs in Liberia. It was founded in 1956, and is the top flight of the Liberian football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the LFA Second Division.

The 2019 LFA First Division League (known as the LFA-Cellcom First Division for sponsorship reasons) is the 45th season of the Liberian First Division, the highest division of Liberian football. The fixtures will be published in late December 2018 and the season is scheduled to begin in January 2019.

Twelve teams will contest the league: Barrack Young Controllers, FC Fassell, Jubilee FC, Keitrace FC, LISCR FC, LPRC Oilers, Monrovia Club Breweries, NPA Anchors, Nimba FC, Nimba United, Small Town FC and Watanga FC. The current champions are Barrack Young Controllers, who won the title in the 2018 season.

Competition Format

The 12 teams will play each other twice (home and away), resulting in a 22-match season, for a total of 132 matches league-wide.

The two lowest placed teams at the end of the season are relegated to the Second Division and the top two teams from the Second Division are promoted in their place.

The third lowest team in the First Division plays a relegation/promotion play-off against the third placed team in the Second Division.

The winners of the First Division qualify for the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League while the runner-up qualify for the WAFU Champions League.

Fixtures will be released in December 2018.
