Local football referee George S. Rogers, Jr. has been selected to participate in an international referee course.
Liberian referee Rogers, Jr. will be among 33 referees from across Africa that will attend the international referee’s course in Cameroon this week.
According to a release from the Liberia Football Association, the course titled the 2016 New FIFA Referees Course will run from April 20 – 26, 2016 in the Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé.
The Confederation of African Football is organizing the event and the referees are to undergo a medical test ahead of the course upon arrival in Cameroon.
The training of referees both locally and internationally is part of the capacity-building program of the Liberia Football Association.
Referee Rogers is excited about the training and is looking forward to making an impact so that he could travel the continent officiating matches.
