CHAN 2016 Qualifiers: Guinea vs. Liberia’s Match Rescheduled by CAF

The first leg match of the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers between the Local Lone Stars of Liberia and the local Syli Nationales of Guinea has been rescheduled by Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The decision was made after a letter was sent to both CAF and the Guinean Football Federation (FGF) on Friday, June 19th by the Liberia Football Association (LFA) requesting a postponement of the match due to the fact that the Lone Stars couldn’t find a suitable connecting flight from Accra, Ghana to Bamako, Mali in time for the match which was supposed to kick off today at 4:00 PM GMT.

Despite the refusal of the Guinean Football Federation to agree to the postponement of the match, CAF was able to intervene and the match will now be played on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 5:00 PM GMT at the Modibo Keita Stadium in Bamako, Mali with the second leg scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Local National Team has already left the country on a chartered flight for Mali.
