Traditional rivals, IE and Barrolle are interestingly meeting for the first time since the outbreak and purge of the Ebola Virus at the Blue Field, PHP Community, in Monrovia at 4:00pm on May 14, 2015.
The 1960 rivals would play the second match in the opener of the President’s Cup, which brings together ten clubs from the First division, eight Second Division clubs as well as four female clubs.
The game between Might Barrolle (Kanyan Pepper Red Boys) and Invincible Eleven, (Sunshine Yellow Boys) is considered the clash of the titans because either side wants to prove dominance due to their fierce rivalry, even though both sides have 13 titles.
If either of the two traditional rivals win the President’s Cup, this would be the first pre-season championship trophy won by either club since the 1990s.
Tomorrow’s first match will see Keitrace FC host Aries FC before IE host Barrolle.
On Saturday, 1st division Watanga FC will host 2nd division Gardnersville FC at 2:00pm, while Nimba United meets 2nd division Holder FC.
On Sunday, NPA Anchors face BYC II and newly promoted first division side FC Fassell meets 2nd division Joy Conquerors.
